Our children deserve every advantage we can give them. Providing a quality education is one of the most important things we can do.
The quality of education in Lake County can be improved if necessary changes are made.
I've dedicated my career to enriching children's lives through education. I want to bring this same enthusiasm to all of Lake County by:
- Affording every student an equal opportunity to succeed.
- Improving support and intervention services for our students who are most in need.
Teachers play an incredibly important role in shaping our children's future. I want
to support the voice of Lake County teachers in the education process by:
- Involving teachers in the development of dynamic and relevant school curriculum and policy.
- Developing more lines of communication between school leadership and teachers in order to fully address the needs of students.
Wherever I have worked, I've made a point to inspire students to give their best effort. Under my leadership,
the overall reading scores increased by 15 percent at North Chicago last year. As Superintendent, I will continue
to apply my knowledge and experience by :
- Teaming with professionals to create a clearly defined process of expectation and accountability.
- Continuing to build meaningful relationships within local communities and promote an environment in which students realize their full potential.
